The PAC Mission:
To serve as the front line of communication facilitating cooperative efforts between home mentors, the school, and the RVA School Board with the intention to give a voice to families.
Internet Reimbursement
Remember to get your internet reimbursements sent in by July 1st. Then we gladly never have to do it again!
The new policy states that you don’t need to send in your internet bill for reimbursement, you just need to have an active student in the RVA to get the funds. The email will be sent to you on your RVA email asking if you would like to accept the allotted funds every semester. You will have the ability to decline the funds if you would want to do that as well.
This change was made for many reasons, and the reasons and new allotted amount of funds set aside for families are stated in the recordings of the returning family meetings that were recently sent to your email. I can not more eloquently state it than Mr Heckel does with the board meeting notes! If you find you have any additional questions please feel free to reach out to me at nikolaus@ruralvirtual.org or call me at 920.255.6665.
Field Trips
Back in person!
Let's change the scenery, get out of the house and see some friendly faces up close. We will be holding field trips in person next year, erring on the side of caution as we try to have most of these outside and/or in smaller groups. Also knowing that we have had a lot of growth with our virtual field trips so these will not be going away, but will be growing as well.
Make sure to look at the ruralvirtual.org Group Events calendar if you want to see what is going in the school and keep updated on events. You can plan your schedule, find our zoom room links and any other information regarding a specific event. If you find you would like to inspire an event idea, please send it to your local coordinator, or to me and we would be happy to look into it for you.
We are anxiously looking forward to seeing you at the next RVA Event!
Mentor Series
Next year look forward to an expansion to the Mentor Series programming. The RVA continues to grow and with this comes a ton of home mentor wisdom. Keep an eye out and learn about this Home Mentor Network as it develops. Do you have insight into what every new home mentor should know to have a successful experience? If so we want to hear from you. Anticipate more information in your email in the coming weeks.
This year's mentor series has run its course. You can view all the current scheduled topics, dates and times by viewing the Mentor Series Schedule. If you have missed previous Mentor Series webinars feel free to visit our Mentor Series Library. Here you will find great resources to better your practices as a home mentor.
If you have or would like to contribute ideas for future Mentor Series please contact our Mentor Series Coordinator, Tracie Moldenhauer at 715.459.6827 or tracie.moldenhauer@ruralvirtual.org.
