◼︎ Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Rural Virtual Academy?

The RVA is a public school option for families wishing to have their children attend school from home.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost to attend the RVA. The RVA is a public school supported by the taxpayers of Wisconsin the same as any other public school.

How do I get my child enrolled into the RVA?

There are multiple ways, depending on where you live.

To determine the best way to get your child enrolled in the RVA, the easiest and fastest way is to start by giving us a call. You can reach us toll free at 1.888.801.2666. You can also learn more about how to apply by going to our application page.

Will you provide a computer and internet access?

Yes. The RVA will loan a computer to each family enrolled. The computer is preloaded with both hardware and software required for school. Families receive vouchers paid to their Internet Service Provider to help pay for their internet costs.

Who provides the instruction?

The students receive their instruction from Wisconsin-licensed teachers through both synchronous (live) and asynchronous delivery methods.

Do the students at the RVA ever get to be together?

Social events and field trips are scheduled regularly throughout the school year. In an average year over 200 different events are held to bring students and families together. We encourage all students and family members to participate in all school activities.
