Fun RVA Additions

You may have noticed a few more emails in your school inbox the last few months. This is the result of new and fun additions to our activities and our Regional Events schedule. Some new additions you may find are the following:

  • Virtual Events, such as aquarium tours & wolf tracking

  • Yoga classes for kids

  • Drama/Acting Club (I am looking forward to great growth on that in the coming year!)

  • New areas where we have added Regional Event Coordinators, which means we have more Events.

You may see this and appreciate what is happening around the state, and online, for our students in the RVA. What you may not be aware of is that a lot of this growth is added and maintained by our RVA parents!

No, not doing it on their own but partnering with the RVA while having a passion, and bringing it to the table for our RVA students!

My question to you is- Do you have a passion?

Can you think of something that could contribute to the experience and be fun for our RVA students? Or something you think the RVA students or mentors could use to build skills?

Oh, I am not asking for a commitment from you to follow it to fruition! Just your ideas, if you have them please do share them with me. I would love to see what I can do with your ideas! My contact information is nikolaus@ruralvirtual.org or 920.255.6665.

Gallery Night - The Student Spotlight

So, some of these other emails are coming through about Student Spotlight. What exactly IS Student Spotlight?

Student Spotlight is a way for your students to showcase their work in a learning fair type setting. They get to choose anything they would like to cover and decide how they would showcase it, such as a poem, art, history project, 4K work, or a personal thing they like, such as a household pet, or hobby, basically anything they would like to ‘show and tell.’

The mission of the Student Spotlight is to showcase this with other RVA families so to inspire each other while giving students a chance to step outside of their comfort zone and grow.

I have included a few links to informative videos. One is an example of an RVA Student Spotlight, and the other is an informative video about what the Student Spotlight is.
