The Rural Virtual Academy is a public school open to all school-aged children in the State of Wisconsin between grades PreK - 12.
All Wisconsin children can attend the RVA.
Depending upon where the child lives makes a difference in how they enroll in the school.
The Rural Virtual Academy is available for all students in Wisconsin. However, the RVA has special agreements with the following school districts allowing families to enroll their children in the RVA without having file for "open enrollment." If you live in: Abbotsford, Algoma, Antigo, Ashland, Auburndale, Bowler, Colby, Elcho, Gilman, Medford, Mosinee, Phillips, Pittsville, Prentice, Rib Lake, Spencer, Stratford, Tomah, Owen-Withee, Thorp and White Lake. Families wanting to join the RVA now simply have to open enroll.
For all students who reside outside of our partner school districts and want to attend the RVA, must file for "open enrollment."
Between July and April, families can apply to attend during the current year. This period is called the "alternate open enrollment" window. You can apply online during this period of time by clicking on the button on the right.
If you have any trouble or questions, do not hesitate in giving us a call anytime at 1.888.801.2666
Families looking ahead to the next school year can apply early.
During February through April of each year, families can apply online to attend the RVA for the following school year.
Applying early gives families early preference for getting into the school for the next year!
Apply on-line for open enrollment during this time by clicking the button marked "apply for standard open enrollment" below. If you have questions, do not hesitate in giving us a call anytime at 1.888.801.2666.
Once accepted families never have to apply again.
Families get to stay in the RVA for as long as they want.
Some school districts require families to re-apply for open enroll every year. Not the RVA. Once you are in, you are in!
