The Rural Virtual Academy is a tuition-free, public school open to all school-aged children anywhere in the State of Wisconsin between grades PreK - 12.
Great news! Your opportunity to apply to open enroll in the RVA for the 2025-26 school year has arrived!
The deadline to apply for open enrollment for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year is April 30. Apply now, because April will come and go fast and you don't want to miss your opportunity to access the best free, public, virtual education in Wisconsin.
NOTE: If your student is currently attending the RVA, you don't need to open enroll, you are already in! But if you have children that are NOT in the RVA yet or would be completely new to the RVA next fall be sure to apply early!

Already enrolled? Once accepted families never have to apply again!
Families get to stay in the RVA for as long as they want! Look for registration information in your RVA email in mid-February!
Some school districts require families to re-apply for open enrollment every year. Not the RVA. Once you are in, you are in! Every year you do need to confirm your information in the registration portal and you are done! If you have a high schooler they will need to do their Course Requests for next year as well.
All Wisconsin children can attend the RVA.
The Rural Virtual Academy is available for all students in Wisconsin. However, the RVA has special agreements with the following school districts allowing families to enroll their children in the RVA without having file for "open enrollment." If you live in the below districts.
