Come join the RVA in finding a mythical beast that’s only native to northern Wisconsin. The Hodag is a mythical, mischievous creature that was first “discovered” in Rhinelander in 1893, when newspapers reported the discovery of a creature in Rhinelander that had the head of a frog, the grinning face of a giant elephant, thick short legs set off by huge claws, the back of a dinosaur, and a long tail with spears at the end. We will be intrepid explorers that encounter more than two dozen sculptures, murals and more. Families will drive around town and use a handy map that highlights all the Hodags that have been discovered (so far) in Rhinelander. When you have as many as you can in the amount of time, you will head back to the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce to pick up a special Hodag-themed prize! All students and children must remain with their parent(s) for the duration of the hunt!
