Mentor Series: Motivating the Unmotivated

  • Rural Virtual Academy 624 College Street, Room 104 Medford, WI, 54451 United States (map)

Please join us while your RVA school psychologists will discuss what motivation is and how individual differences impact what motivates each of us.

Is it difficult to get your student to complete things? Is it difficult to pinpoint what specifically motivates your child? After all, not all students will work for a trophy. Not all students will work to feel good either. Sometimes, it is really challenging to provide a consistent reason for a student, one that elicits their best performance, improvement, or achievement. We will offer tips and resources to help you identify what motivates your child and what doesn't. We will explore some online tools together, and discuss activities that may help us all understand the "why?" for different kinds of students.
