  • Rural Virtual Academy-Zoom Room 624 College Street, Room 104 Medford, WI, 54451 United States (map)

Join us for the last virtual event of the year, the Living in the World of Dinosaurs watch party put on by the Smithsonian! On May 24th, at @5:45pm we will spend an hour together learning about Dinosaurs! We will Explore the origin, evolution, and lives of dinosaurs in an interactive session live from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. Students will participate in challenges and demonstrations as Smithsonian Curator of Dinosauria Matthew Carrano leads them through exhibits of the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. Who were the first dinosaurs? What were dinosaur habitats like? How did they live, and why did they go extinct? Where are dinosaurs today? And how do paleontologists learn about these amazing ancient animals? Find out answers to these questions and many more as the Smithsonian dinosaur hall comes to visit you. This event is best suited for ages K-5, but open to all.
