Waukesha County Historical Museum

  • Waukesha County Historical Museum 101 West Main Street Waukesha, WI, 53186 United States (map)

Can't wait to meet up with you at the Waukesha County Historical Museum. We will divide into two small groups and rotate through two programs: 1. One Room Schoolhouse: Best not to be late! Experience a typical school day during the late 1800’s. Using your chalk and slate, you will travel back to a time where the most important things you were to learn were truthfulness, honesty, punctuality, cleanliness, and kindness. Compare the one room schoolhouse with the school we know today. 2. Native Peoples of Wisconsin: Native Peoples have made Wisconsin their home for thousands of years. Explore the rich history of Wisconsin Native Americans before European contact. Discuss housing, clothing, food, unique land formations and handle real museum artifacts. Including special emphasis on Waukesha and the First Nations who lived here. 3. Optional: Bring a BAG LUNCH to eat at Frame Park: If you'd like to extend your time, bring a bag lunch to eat at Frame Park and enjoy the Fox River. Frame Park is half a mile away which offers a playground, baseball fields, and a Riverwalk that is perfect for a lunch outing.
