Understanding Attention Deficits:
Viewing the World Through a Wide Angle Lens
There is no disorder that is more widely studied - and so universally misunderstood than Attention Deficits. This seminar is designed to clarify some of the many misconceptions about A.D.D. and present a model of the disorder, which is comprehensive and comprehendible. This model translates into practical and effective management techniques that can be used at home and in the classroom.
Among the topics discussed in the seminar will be: Hyperactivity, Gender issues, Causes and symptoms of A.D.D., Distractibility, Disinhibition, Impulsivity, and Medication
Beyond merely defining the syndrome, the seminar will also present field-tested strategies to assist the child with attentional problems.
Objectives:
● The learner will understand the basic history of the development of the A.D.D. field.
● The learner will understand the causes and effects of A.D.D. on performance progress and potential.
● The learner will master ten techniques to assist, guide and teach to children with A.D.D.
