Go “off-grid” with a visit to an 1860’s log home where you’ll explore life before indoor plumbing, air conditioning, or the internet! Take a virtual guided tour to find out how wool was spun to make clothes and an antique wringer machine was used for washing them. You’ll take a vintage skills survey, to discover your level of old-fashioned versus modern know how, and play an artifact guessing game. All families will receive access to a special resource page for extended learning opportunities following this session.
Chippewa Valley Museum and the log home are located in Eau Claire, WI---a very accurate look into how Wisconsinites lived in the 1800's.
We will have a live, 90 minute tour and discussion with staff members from the museum, and will be able to take your questions as well!
