Learning about the World with History & Geography 

Study Ancient Egypt, Rome, knights and castles, geography, climates and much more.  Engages students with conversation as it equips them with questions to connect him or her to the various people and places they will discover.

Read-Alouds

Reading aloud to students builds their vocabulary, listening skills and imagination. Read-Alouds also help build student’s cognitive development and gives them a passion to learn. 

Readers

Building student’s academic foundation by giving them fun, real books they can read successfully! Even after a student learns just 8 letters of the alphabet they will read real stories in the Fun Tales series.

Language Arts (1-2nd grades)

BookShark Language Arts teaches reading, phonics, spelling, copy work, creative expression and writing mechanics. With weekly rubrics, we have confidence that students are mastering concepts as they progress through the school year.

Handwriting Without Tears

We believe that writing by hand enhances fine motor and creative writing skills. Developed by a registered occupational therapist, Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) is a developmentally-based handwriting program. This easy-to-learn curriculum makes learning to write a joy for students. HWT is available for all skill levels, including print and cursive.

Science (K-2nd Grade)

BookShark’s Science curriculum combines a hands-on and literature-based approach that is engaging and fun! Students will focus on three to four topics per year and gain in-depth knowledge of subjects including Geology, Meteorology, Physics, Biology, Animals, Electricity, Human Anatomy, Chemistry, Astronomy and more!

Loaded with scores of hands-on experiments, our program is completely planned and our Science Kits provide nearly all the materials needed to conduct all of the experiments.

Math

Each highly respected curriculum encourages students to develop solid math reasoning skills and apply them to real-life situations.

History

Through BookShark's Reading with History program, students learn from multiple perspectives and engage in thought-provoking discussions. Bookshark uses a variety of academic resources including fictional and non-fictional literature, biographies and illustrative books to deliver an engaging and complete education.

Through BookShark’s integrated curriculum, students will make lasting connections between the people, places and events they encounter in the scheduled books.
